The Dallas Titans came within one out of advancing to the championship game but saw Texas Elite score the winning run on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the seventh, falling 5-4 and sending the best-of-three semifinal series to a decisive Game 3.
Texas Elite struck first with an RBI single from William Bush in the opening inning before adding two more runs in the second on an RBI single by Justin Moore and a sacrifice groundout by Bush to build a 3-0 lead.
Dallas chipped away at the deficit, beginning with Steely Gill's solo home run in the fourth inning. The Titans continued to battle back before finally drawing even in the top of the seventh when Steven Baker delivered a clutch RBI single to tie the game at 4-4.
The game remained deadlocked until the bottom of the seventh, when Texas Elite loaded the bases and William Bush worked a walk to force home the winning run, giving Texas Elite a dramatic walk-off victory.
Although Dallas out-hit Texas Elite 8-6, the Titans were unable to overcome 10 walks issued by their pitching staff. Gill, Bernie Garces, and Baker each collected two hits, while Baker drove in two runs from the seventh spot in the lineup.
Brenden Monroe started for Dallas, allowing four runs over 3⅓ innings, and Matt Nelson was charged with the loss after the walk-off rally. Drew Haliburton earned the win in relief for Texas Elite after pitching the final two innings.
Bush led Texas Elite with three RBIs despite recording just one hit, while Chris Duckworth paced the club with two hits. Texas Elite also played flawless defense, committing no errors.
With the victory, Texas Elite evened the semifinal series at one game apiece, setting up a winner-take-all Game 3 with a trip to the championship game on the line.
